The European Ski Mountaineering Championship and the World Cup held at the "Shahdag" Tourism Center were organized at a high level.
Gunel Badalova, Secretary General of the Azerbaijan Winter Sports Federation, told "Report" about this.
She reminded that our country hosted the European Ski Mountaineering Championship for the first time:
"We also organized the World Cup for the second time. This competition was also held in January last year. Both competitions went very well. 18 countries and neutral athletes participated in the tournament. In total, 124 athletes participated. Skiers and officials who came to our country said that Azerbaijan organized the competition well. They highly appreciated the infrastructure of the "Shahdag" Tourism Center and the hospitality of Azerbaijan. We still hear good words from the guests."
G. Badalova emphasized that the International Ski Mountaineering Federation was also satisfied with the tournament:
"The International Ski Mountaineering Federation also stated that the competition was organized at a high level. They said that the tournament was held in accordance with all standards. Next year, we will also have the World Championship in this sport."
