During the solemn ceremony held in Seattle (USA), the Japanese athlete's famous stance was to be immortalized. However, at the most crucial moment, the baseball bat on the statue bent and was damaged.
It should be noted that Suzuki is the author of the single-season record in MLB history (the highest level professional baseball league in the USA and Canada) with 262 base hits in 2004.
