This was stated to "Report" by the head coach of the Azerbaijani Greco-Roman wrestling team, Alexander Tarakanov, the winner of the European Championship held in Bratislava, the capital of Slovakia.

The specialist said that he was happy with the result:

"I congratulate the Greco-Roman, freestyle and women's wrestling teams. I express my gratitude to the Azerbaijan Wrestling Federation, the Ministry of Youth and Sports, and the leadership of the National Olympic Committee for their support. All conditions have been created for us to train and participate in international tournaments. Our wrestlers performed very well in Slovakia. As a result, they won medals of various grades. However, we do not intend to stop there."

He said that they also want to achieve success at the World Championship to be held in Croatia in September:

"We have the World Cup ahead of us. We will also prepare seriously for this competition. We want to continue our successful performances at the European Championship. But the main goal is to win the 2028 Los Angeles Summer Olympic Games. We will do our best for this. The youth of the wrestlers in the team is also calculated so that we can prepare more confidently for the upcoming Olympics."

It should be noted that our representatives finished the competition with 3 gold, 1 silver and 2 bronze medals.
