We knew we would be champions.
This was stated to "Report" by Khetag Gazyumov, the head coach of the Azerbaijani freestyle wrestling team, which won the European Championship held in Bratislava, the capital of Slovakia.
The specialist said he was happy with the result:
"We prepared seriously for the competition. Our wrestlers showed themselves well in training camps. We expected to become champions, the result is not accidental. True, we hoped that the number of gold medals would be higher. I expected Osman Nurmagomedov to become a champion. Unfortunately, it didn't work out. We will work on our mistakes and eliminate them, and we want to increase the number of our gold medals in the upcoming competitions."
It should be noted that our representatives finished the tournament with 1 gold, 1 silver and 4 bronze medals.
