Washington Capitals forward Nicklas Backstrom gifted a live baby goat to team captain Alexander Ovechkin.
Lent.az reports that this was announced on the National Hockey League (NHL) club's X social media page.
Backstrom presented the gift at a ceremony in Washington. The forward, who has the most assists to Ovechkin, said, "Now we introduce you to this goat."
It should be noted that on April 6, Ovechkin scored the 895th goal of his career in the NHL regular season. This allowed him to break the record of Canadian Wayne Gretzky (894) in this indicator.
