The opening ceremony of "Gabala - Sports Capital 2025" was held jointly organized by the Ministry of Youth and Sports and the Gabala District Executive Authority. Sport24.az reports that at the event, the Minister of Youth and Sports Farid Gayibov presented the official key of the sports capital to Ataya Osmanova, a representative of the Gabala District Executive Authority.
Gabala city was chosen as the sports capital of Azerbaijan for 2025 as a result of the voting held on December 7, 2023 at the meeting of the Collegium of the Ministry of Youth and Sports. Last year, the capital was Guba, the youth capital.
