Four-time USSR cross-country skiing champion Sergey Sokarev has died.
Report, citing local media, reports that the veteran athlete died tragically at the age of 69.
He died in a fire as a result of the burning of six garages in the Leningrad region.
It should be noted that Sokarev repeatedly won the 70 km cross-country skiing race at the USSR Championship. He is also a bronze medalist of the World Cup.
