Former Manchester United player Joe Thompson has died at the age of 36.
Lent.az reports, citing foreign media, that the club's press service announced this.
Thompson had been battling Hodgkin's lymphoma (Lymphoma is a cancer of the lymphatic system, which is part of the immune system that fights germs and diseases – ed.) for a long time. He was able to achieve remission twice, but the disease relapsed.
The disease forced the English footballer to end his football career at the age of 30. He later worked for Manchester United radio and club television.
