The Mogul World Cup in alpine skiing, which was planned to be held at the "Shahdag" Tourism Center, has been canceled.
"Report" informs that the International Ski and Snowboard Federation (FIS) has released information about this.
It was reported that during the preparation process, it became clear that the current natural and winter conditions are not fully suitable to ensure the expected quality and competitive environment for an event of this level:
"At the same time, certain logistical factors, including limited travel options and temporary restrictions at some regional airports, may affect the ease of travel for athletes and guests. Although Azerbaijan is fully prepared to host the event, the priority for both Azerbaijan and FIS is to organize the competition in the best possible conditions, ensuring a top-level experience for athletes, teams, and spectators. Therefore, a joint decision was made to postpone the organization of the Mogul World Cup finals to be held in the "Shahdag" Tourism Center to the next winter season. This decision will allow the organizers to ensure optimal sports conditions and hold a world-class event that reflects the ambitions of both Azerbaijan and FIS. Azerbaijan is looking forward to welcoming the international winter sports community to Shahdag next season."
It should be noted that the competition was supposed to be held on March 14-15.
