The International Weightlifting Federation has announced the names of the members of the "Advisory Group".
Idman.biz reports that in addition to Firdovsi Umudov, the vice-president of the Azerbaijan Weightlifting Federation, there are only 3 members in the group.
Kakhi Kakhiashvili, a three-time Olympic, three-time world and four-time European champion from Georgia, Tom Liaw, the president of the Singapore Weightlifting Federation, and Song Nam Yang, the vice-president of the Weightlifting Federation of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea, will serve as members of the IWF's "Advisory Group". Only 2 representatives from European countries are included in the governing structure, one of whom is Firdovsi Umudov.
It should be noted that about 200 member countries are represented in the International Weightlifting Federation. The leading member countries are mainly represented in the IWF leadership. Members of the "Advisory Group" are elected for a period of 4 years and will perform this duty until 2029.
