The official opening ceremony of the branch of the Confucius Institute operating under the Azerbaijan University of Languages was held at the Baku Youth Center yesterday.

It was reported that the event was supported by the Ministry of Youth and Sports of the Republic of Azerbaijan and the Embassy of the People's Republic of China in Azerbaijan.
Farid Gayibov, Minister of Youth and Sports of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Lu Mei, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the People's Republic of China to our country, and Nargiz Babayeva, Director of Baku Youth Center, spoke at the ceremony.
Within the framework of the event, a tripartite cooperation memorandum was signed between Baku Youth Center (Director Nargiz Babayeva), Confucius Institute operating under the Azerbaijan University of Languages (Director Rafig Abbasov) and Confucius Institute from China (Director Li Jihua).
Azerbaijani and Chinese national dances and music were presented at the ceremony, and an exhibition of handicrafts by Chinese students was displayed.
It should be noted that at the end of the event, gifts were exchanged between the parties.
