We are pleased to host international chess competitions in Azerbaijan.
According to "Report", this was stated by the Minister of Youth and Sports Farid Gayibov at the opening ceremony of the "Baku Open-2025" International Chess Festival.
"The Azerbaijan Chess Federation is actively working. I am also grateful to the President of the International Chess Federation, Arkady Dvorkovich. The head of state Ilham Aliyev supports chess, as well as other sports. I thank the Azerbaijan Chess Federation and its partners. I wish everyone success," F. Gayibov emphasized.
It should be reminded that the prize fund of the festival is equal to 55 thousand US dollars. More than 700 chess players from 16 countries participate in the competition. The tournament also includes the Azerbaijani championship among veteran chess players.
The festival is also included in the "Chess Tour Azerbaijan" project.
