Minister of Youth and Sports Farid Gayibov has been elected Chairman of the 10th Session of the Conference of Parties to the International Convention against Doping in Sport of UNESCO (COP10).
Today, the 10th Session of the Conference of Parties to the International Convention against Doping in Sport (COP10) has started at UNESCO headquarters in Paris. Farid Gayibov, Minister of Youth and Sports of the Republic of Azerbaijan, spoke in the first part of the event.
Elections for the COP10 chairmanship were held within the framework of the session. As a result of the voting, Minister of Youth and Sports Farid Gayibov won against his Senegalese counterpart Khady Dien Gaye by a majority of votes and was elected Chairman of the 10th Session (COP10) of the Conference of Parties to the UNESCO International Convention against Doping in Sport.
It should be reminded that Minister Farid Gayibov was elected Chairman of the Intergovernmental Committee for Physical Education and Sport (CIGEPS) of UNESCO in 2022, and Vice-Chairman of the 9th Session (COP9) of the Conference of Parties to the UNESCO International Convention against Doping in Sport in 2023.
