Idman.Biz reports that these words were said by the Minister of Youth and Sports Farid Gayibov at the opening ceremony of the European Ski Mountaineering Championship, which started at the "Shahdag" Tourism Center.
The Minister reminded that special attention is paid to the development of winter sports by the order of President Ilham Aliyev.
"Last year, the Junior Grand Prix Figure Skating Competitions were also held in Baku, at the Heydar Aliyev Sports and Concert Complex. Like last year, this year our calendar is rich in competitions in winter sports. On March 14, the Freestyle Mogul World Cup will be held at the "Shahdag" tourism center," said the Minister of Youth and Sports.
Farid Gayibov reminded that more than 100 athletes represent Azerbaijan in all the mentioned competitions:
"It is gratifying for us that our local athletes, not invited from other countries, represent our country, and the results are quite good. Taking this opportunity, I would like to express my gratitude to the Winter Sports Federation for the organization."
