An educational and useful event on the theme "Sports psychology: today and tomorrow" was held at Odlar Yurdu University.
İdman.Biz reports that at the event, sports psychologist of the Azerbaijan Karate Federation, the Safe Sports section of the National Olympic Committee, Gulbaniz Mammadli spoke about her experience of working with athletes and emphasized that psychological preparation plays an important role in managing pre-competition tension, excitement and stress. She also talked about the methods used to form motivation and self-confidence, and the effectiveness of individual psychological approaches.
It was reported that Fatima Jafarli, a psychologist at the Republican Olympic Sports Lyceum, noted in her speech the importance of starting psychological support from an early stage among school-age and young athletes. She especially emphasized the necessity of harmonious cooperation of the parent, coach and psychologist triangle in the development of the athlete.
Famous athletes of our national teams also participated in the event and shared their personal experiences. Imamaddin Khalilov, Ilaham Zakiyev, Taleh Mammadov, and Kifayat Gasimova talked about the role of sports psychology and the usefulness of psychological sessions before the Paris Games. They noted that psychological preparation is of great importance for successful performances and confident self-presentation in the international arena.
