"Report" informs that this was stated by Giorgi Meshvildishvili, Azerbaijani freestyle wrestler, who won a gold medal at the European Championship held in Bratislava, the capital of Slovakia.
Our representative, who achieved success in the 125 kg weight category, said that he was happy to have climbed to the highest step of the podium:
"My final match was really difficult. But I am happy to have won in the end. I express my gratitude to everyone who supported me, including the Azerbaijan Wrestling Federation. I tried to do my best to fulfill the tasks assigned. I am proud to have raised the flag of Azerbaijan high."
It should be noted that Giorgi Meshvildishvili won a gold medal by defeating Solomon Manashvili (Georgia) in the final. In total, the team finished the competition with 1 gold, 1 silver and 4 bronze medals, taking first place in the team standings with 119 points.
