On January 8, the Indonesian Football Association announced the appointment of the former striker of top European clubs and the Dutch national team as the head coach of its national team.
Lent.az reports, citing foreign media, that a 2-year contract has been signed with the 48-year-old specialist with a possible extension. Patrick Kluivert began his coaching career in 2008 as an assistant coach for AZ.
He has been part of the coaching staff of the Netherlands and Cameroon national teams in various years, and has also held senior positions at PSG and Barcelona.
Before coming to Indonesia, he coached the Turkish team "Adana Demirspor", which he left in December 2023.
