The draw ceremony for the XXXI Azerbaijan Handball Cup was held at the Azerbaijan Handball Federation (AHF).
According to "Report", citing the AHF press service, members of the referees' board, employees of the sports department, and head coaches of the teams participated in the event.
The head of the Federation's sports department, European Handball Federation representative Iskandar Asgarov, announced that the national cup for the 2024/2025 season will start on April 26 at the "AHF Arena". The competition, organized according to the Olympic system, will begin with the 1/4 finals.
The finalists of the national cup in the 2023/2024 season, "Azeryol" and "Baku" (men), and "Azeryol" and "Kur" (women), will join the competition from the semi-finals. This stage will start in the third ten-day period of May.
Detailed information about the tournament regulations, rules, and game schedule was provided at the event, and the list of participating teams was announced. In total, 9 men's ("Azeryol", "Baku", "Dinamo", "Gencler Birliyi", "Idman Akademiyasi", "Kur", "Qarabag", "Tehsil", U-17) and 7 women's ("Azeryol", "Qarabag", "Idman Akademiyasi", "Azersu", U-16) teams will compete for the main prize.
After the draw ceremony, participants' questions were answered, and all details related to the tournament were discussed.
