The cause of death of 31-year-old Brazilian Ricardo Nolasco Santos, an 11-time bodybuilding champion who died of a heart attack, has been revealed.
Idman.Biz reports with reference to "The Sun" that the athlete's mother claimed that her son fell into deep depression after the death of his beloved cat Baki and lost his life as a result.
According to the athlete's mother, her son could not bear the loss of his beloved pet.
"Our Baki is gone, a world where the two of you are not together cannot exist," the athlete's mother wrote on her social media account.
She also noted that although Nolasko felt bad on the day of his death, he decided to meet with his friends to distract himself. A few hours later he was taken to the hospital, but doctors could not save the athlete's life.
According to reports, Nolasko died a few days after getting engaged to his girlfriend.
