"Badamlı Cup" has ended

The "Badamlı Cup" successfully ended with the organization of the Azerbaijan Karate Federation and the "Badamlı Karate Club", which operates in the traditional karate style Shito-Ryu, at the Border Guard Olympic Sports Center. Sport24.az reports that the tournament was attended by about 40 clubs from 15 regions, about 500 athletes and 25 referees. The competition was officially opened with the National Anthem of the Republic of Azerbaijan. Then, the dear memory of national leader Heydar Aliyev and our martyrs who sacrificed their lives for the Motherland was commemorated with a minute of silence. Speaking at the opening ceremony, Vice-President of the Azerbaijan Karate Federation Fuzuli Musayev spoke about the successful sports policy implemented in our country, the attention and support shown by President Ilham Aliyev to sports, especially karate. He also conveyed the greetings of the federation president Ulvi Guliyev to the athletes and wished them success in the competitions. Later, the head of "Badamlı Karate Club" Tuncay Huseynov spoke and expressed his gratitude for the attention and support shown to the Azerbaijan Karate Federation and gave information about the organizational aspects of the tournament. In the artistic part of the competition, exemplary performances of karate fighters were demonstrated. Then, an award ceremony was held in various age and weight categories and the fights started. The tournament ended in a spirit of healthy competition among athletes and at a high organizational level.
