Azerbaijan's "Ocaq Sport" ice hockey team has been invited to tournaments in China and Russia.
This was stated by Aleksandr Blinov, head coach of "Ocaq Sport", in an interview with "Report".
The expert spoke about taking third place in the international "Galaxy Cup" tournament held in Dubai and receiving invitations to competitions planned in other countries:
"Our team achieved great success in this competition. It is gratifying for us to take third place. This is a historic event for Azerbaijani hockey. We were the youngest team in the tournament. After this competition, we received invitations to tournaments to be held in China, Russia and the United Arab Emirates. Since there is no team in Azerbaijan that can compete with us, we have to play in other countries. Our goal is to organize such competitions in Baku. Fighting in Baku would be a new experience for us."
It should be noted that "Ocaq Sport" took 3rd place among 6 teams. Ilkin Gambarov, the goalkeeper of the team, who participated in the international tournament for the first time, was named the best player.
