"Although my rivals were strong, I did my best."
This was stated to Idman.biz by Azerbaijani rower Alimurad Hajizade.
He evaluated his performance at the 38th international "Bratislava Regatta" tournament in kayak and canoe among juniors and youth held in Slovakia. Hajizade said that he is satisfied with the result he achieved: "Kayaking requires both speed, strength and technique. Especially, you need to be careful at a distance of 200 meters. The Bratislava Regatta was a very important competition for me. I came second here at a distance of 200 meters. My main goal in participating in the tournament was to show myself and gain international experience."
The 16-year-old athlete also spoke about his future plans: "This competition was both a great motivation and a lesson for me. In the future, I want to develop myself more and achieve results in important competitions. The Olympic Hopes and the CIS Games are ahead. Both competitions are very important to me. Therefore, I try to be as disciplined as possible in training. I hope that I will be able to represent my team properly in the upcoming tournaments."
It should be noted that athletes from more than 20 countries competed in the "Bratislava Regatta".
