4 representatives from Azerbaijan participated in the UEFA "Center of Refereeing Excellence" (CORE) program, implemented to develop young and promising referees.
Idman.biz reports that the country was represented by the head of the AFFA Referees Department, mentor Omar Pashayev, chief referee Tural Gurbanov and assistant referee Asiman Azizli.
Within the framework of the program, Omar Pashayev participated in the exams of young referees from Georgia and the Faroe Islands after a 6-month training process. Our young referees, in turn, joined the CORE 60 project and underwent an intensive training process. Referees who showed successful results in the exams were awarded certificates by UEFA.
It should be noted that the CORE program creates conditions for the professional development of young referees selected from various European countries and for them to operate at a higher level in international games.
