Azerbaijani Paralympic champion Imamaddin Khalilov (70 kg) aims for first place in all competitions.
The para-taekwondo athlete stated this in an interview with "Report".
The athlete, who won a silver medal at the President's Cup held in Taiyuan, China, shared his impressions of the competition:
"This was the first tournament after the Paris-2024 Summer Paralympic Games where I felt ready. I was in great shape. Like everyone else, I was expecting to win the championship. I was easily defeating all my opponents. I got injured in the semi-finals. On the advice of doctors, I couldn't fight in the final. This made me angry. I aim for first place in all tournaments. Everyone expects this from me. I am not satisfied with second place. That's how it was meant to be. My biggest goal in the next tournaments is to win a gold medal. This competition was important for me in terms of getting back on track."
It should be noted that Imamaddin Khalilov won a gold medal at the Paris-2024 Summer Paralympic Games.
