Azerbaijani karatekas won first place in the team standings at the "Marmara Cup" international tournament.
This was reported to "Report" by the press service of the Azerbaijan Karate Federation (AKF).
Among the athletes representing our country at the competition (among children, adolescents, youth and adults), Farid Savadov (60 kg), Rashid Suleymanov (75 kg), Nuran Rzazade (67 kg), Asiman Gurbanli (+84 kg) won gold, Madina Sadigova (55 kg), Fariz Shahbazov (60 kg) and Huseyn Mammadli (67 kg) won silver, Fatima Jabrayilova (50 kg), Nazrin Piriyeva (55 kg), Turgut Hasanov (84 kg), Farid Shahbazli (84 kg) and Vahid Hasanov (+84 kg) won bronze medals.
The national team performed under the leadership of the head coach of the AKF, Shahin Atamov. Karatekas have also started training camps to prepare for the CIS Games. The participation of the national team in this tournament and the preparation before the CIS Games were supported by the Ministry of Youth and Sports.
It should be noted that about 2000 karatekas from 28 countries tested their strength at the international tournament.
