The "Black Sea and Caspian Countries Karate Championship" was held in the Yenişehir Sports Hall in Rize, Turkey.
Idman.biz reports that 3 athletes from the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic representation of the Azerbaijan Karate Federation participated in the tournament.
Of these, Fatima Baghirzade (10-11 years old, 50 kg) became the champion by defeating all her rivals. Khadija Bayramova (10-11 years old, 35 kg) won a bronze medal.
It should be noted that about 1000 athletes from the Black Sea and Caspian regions competed in two age categories at the championship.
