The International Cycling Union (UCI) has disqualified Azerbaijani cyclist Artyom Proskuryakov for three years for violating anti-doping rules.
According to İdman.Biz, the UCI press service reported this.
It was noted that traces of methamphetamine and its metabolites were found in the athlete's doping samples.
The samples were collected during the competition at the UCI Junior Road World Championships. The period of disqualification is from November 18, 2025 to November 17, 2028.
The press service of the Azerbaijan Cycling Federation confirmed the information.
"Artyom Proskuryakov was punished for violating anti-doping rules.
As soon as this information was received, the athlete was removed from the team. Artyom Proskuryakov has not been a member of the Azerbaijani national team since November," the Federation said.
It was also added that the International Cycling Union officially announced the sanctions imposed on the athlete today after the investigation.
