Idman.biz, citing AZERTAC, reports that the incident occurred in the section of the Upper Shirvan canal passing through the village of Aghjayazi, Agdash region.
Suleymanli Deniz Nasib oglu, born in 2008, drowned while swimming in the canal.
According to reports, the teenager was swimming with his father. The father, seeing his son drowning, tried to save him, but it was not possible.
The Aran Regional Center's diving and search team of the Ministry of Emergency Situations has been involved in the area regarding the incident. Search operations are currently underway to find the teenager.
It should be noted that Deniz Suleymanli was the Azerbaijani champion in algaput, a type of martial art.
