6 Azerbaijani badminton players have made it into the "Top 100" for the first time in history.
This was reported to "Report" by the press service of the Azerbaijan Badminton Federation.
In the new ranking list announced by the World Badminton Federation (BWF), 6 representatives of Azerbaijan are in the "Top 100" in 4 categories.
Edi Reski Dvichayo, a participant in the Tokyo and Paris Olympics, is 78th in the men's singles competition. Keisha Fatima Zahra, the youngest badminton player in the Paris Olympics, is in 57th place in the women's singles category.
In the men's doubles competition, the Agil Gabilov-Diki Pangestu tandem is 78th in the ranking, and the Cahid Alhasanov-Hajar Nuriyeva pair is 92nd in the ranking.
Ulvi Huseynov is 28th in the world ranking in the boys' singles category, and Hajar Nuriyeva is 53rd in the girls' singles category.
The inclusion of athletes in the top "100" of the ranking list is one of the main goals of the Azerbaijan Badminton Federation's development strategy for 2025-2028.
It should be noted that for the first time in history, badminton players are ranked in 4 categories.
