I thought my result would be better.
Azerbaijani athlete Nazim Babayev said this in his statement to "Report", while talking about winning a bronze medal at the tournament held in Sabadell, Spain.
The 27-year-old athlete, who performed successfully in the long jump, said that his motivation was high in the competition:
"This was the first tournament of the season. I felt better. I also came to the arena motivated. I was well prepared too. But sometimes, after a 3-4 month break, you don't get the result you want in the first competitions."
N.Babayev said that he believes that he will win higher quality awards this season:
"We will have more competitions ahead. On January 25, the gold-level tournament of the Winter Athletics Tour will take place in Astana, the capital of Kazakhstan. I have received an invitation and will compete there. I also plan to be in the top "3" there. That is my goal. After that, I intend to improve my result to around 7.80 and 7.90 meters and get a license for the European Championship."
It should be noted that Nazim Babayev took third place with a result of 7.44 meters.
