Our main goal is to perform even better at the upcoming Olympics than at the 2024 Summer Olympics in France.
This was stated by Rashad Rasulullu, Executive Vice-President of the Azerbaijan Judo Federation, in an interview with "Report", while talking about the changes in the coaching staff of the judo national teams.
He stated that they are doing everything possible to bring the preparations to a higher level on the eve of the Olympic cycle:
"Our goals and plans are big. Therefore, we made coaching changes in the national teams in various age categories. I believe that we will see the benefits of these changes. I can't talk about the details in detail. Our main goal is to perform even better at the upcoming Olympics than at the 2024 Summer Olympics in France. However, I cannot predict how many medals we will win. Each of the new foreign experts involved represents a different judo school, which expands our opportunities to use the best practices. This also creates a favorable environment for local coaches to develop themselves. We are confident that our strengthened coaching staff will make their valuable contributions to achieving the goals set by the federation."
It should be noted that today the Azerbaijan Judo Federation decided to make a number of changes in the coaching staff in order to bring the work of the national teams in all age categories in line with international standards and to ensure an effective transition of identified talents to the level of elite athletes.
