The Azerbaijan Winter Sports Federation (AWSF) has applied to the international organization to host the Ski Mountaineering World Championships in 2027.
Gunel Badalova, Secretary General of AWSF, told "Report" about this.
She said they expect a positive response from the International Ski Mountaineering Federation (ISMF):
"We hope that the answer will be positive for us".
G. Badalova also shared her views on Azerbaijan hosting the European Ski Mountaineering Championship and the World Cup in 2026:
"The European Championship was planned earlier. The tournament will be held between March 4-8. We also applied for the World Cup. This was also positively received. The competitions will take place in the same month. We will start preparations some time before the start".
It should be noted that the European Championship is scheduled to be held on March 4-8, 2026, and the World Cup on March 6-8 at the "Shahdag" Tourism Center.
