I didn't perform well in the competition this time.
Azerbaijani chess player Ayan Allahverdiyeva said this in her statement to "Report", while talking about her performance in the national championship.
She stated that she made mistakes in the 1/8 final stage where she lost to Zeynab Mammadyarova:
"I can't talk much about the competition. I lost and stopped fighting. In the first match, in general, I fought very badly. In the second match, I played relatively normally. These things happen. Actually, it's not normal. I know my mistakes, I will work on them. The year has just started. I will work harder for the next tournaments."
It should be noted that Ayan Allahverdiyeva became the Azerbaijani champion among female chess players for the first time in her career in February 2024.
