At least 20 people die as bus plunges from bridge into river in Nigeria

A passenger bus returning from a sports festival in Kano State, northern Nigeria, plunged from a bridge into a river.

Lent.az reports that the Punch newspaper reported this.

"There were 30 athletes on the bus, 20 of whom died in the accident," the report said.

Search and rescue operations are currently underway in the area.
