The Azerbaijan National Anti-Doping Agency (AMADA) will host an international conference in Baku dedicated to the "Year of the Constitution and Sovereignty" under the theme "Law and Justice in Sports: A New Anti-Doping Framework."
Idman.Biz reports that the event will take place on November 13.
The conference will be attended by government officials, Olympic champions, federation leaders, as well as heads of the World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA) and national anti-doping organizations from other countries, local and foreign experts.
The conference, which will continue with sessions, will discuss topics such as fair and honest competition, the rule of law in sports, the formation of new anti-doping rules, as well as human rights in sports.
The aim of the event is to increase the effectiveness of the fight against doping and other harmful substances in the context of the 30th anniversary of the adoption of the Constitution of the Republic of Azerbaijan, to improve preventive and educational activities, to promote international dialogue, exchange of experience and cooperation, which promotes the formation of a modern anti-doping framework based on changes in WADA's new legislation and international experience, in order to protect the rule of law in sports and the principles of fair competition.
Anna Thorstenson, WADA's Anti-Doping Ombudsman for Athletes, will also be among the foreigners who will speak at the international conference.
