It was reported that the World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA) has declared April 17 as "Fair Sport Day" worldwide. Dedicated to the values of clean sport, this day aims to raise awareness for athletes, the sports community and other stakeholders regarding the global fight against doping.
AMADA, joining WADA's initiative every year, has declared April 15 - May 15, 2026 as "Fair Sport Month" in our country.
WADA has called for the "Fair Sport Day", which is celebrated in various formats every year, to be widely promoted through digital platforms this year as well. The supreme anti-doping body recommends that this day be held this year under the slogan "Fair competition starts with you" and that posts on this topic be spread with the hashtag #PlayTrueDay.
Within the framework of "Fair Sport Month – 2026", in addition to posting about this day on AMADA's various social media channels, it is planned to organize awareness-raising events in the regions of Azerbaijan, hold meetings in various educational institutions, and implement events in cooperation with sports federations. In addition, social media campaigns and public advocacy projects are also planned.
WADA has been celebrating "Fair Sport Day" every year in April since 2014. This significant day, which is held on different dates, falls on April 17 in 2026. "Fair Sport Day" has been widely celebrated internationally for 12 years.
