The sports director of the Azerbaijan Winter Sports Federation, Igor Lukanin, explained how the training process for young figure skater Alexander Plyushchenko will be organized after his transfer to the Azerbaijan team.
Idman.Biz reports, citing odds.ru, that the 13-year-old athlete will continue training at his father's, two-time Olympic champion Evgeni Plyushchenko's, academy in Moscow.
"We fully trust Yevgeni. He is both a coach and a very good athlete. He has a strong enough school in Moscow and we hope that Sasha will train in the same way as before, and the results will be evident," Lukanin said.
Recall that earlier it became known that Alexander Plyushchenko changed his sports citizenship from Russia to Azerbaijan for a period of five years and will represent Azerbaijan in international competitions from now on.
