Holding the ultramarathon in Khankendi is a special moment for me.
"Report" reports that this was stated by the President of the Azerbaijan Athletics Federation (AAF), Javid Gurbanov, in his statement to journalists after the Gabala-Khankendi ultramarathon.
He said that the competition was organized at a high level:
"This magnificent competition is being held for the second time at the initiative of the Ministry of Youth and Sports. It is gratifying that interest in the ultramarathon increases every year. The main goal of the competition is to encourage Azerbaijani youth to a healthy lifestyle. Today, holding the competition in Khankendi is a special moment for me. Because I myself was born in the Karabakh zone. Today, thanks to the leadership of the Victorious Supreme Commander, President Ilham Aliyev, the heroism of our people and the courage of our army, we are holding a competition here today - in the center of Khankendi."
