The European Championship among fencers under 23 years old has ended in Tallinn, the capital of Estonia.
Idman.biz reports that our men's national team in the sabre fencing event, consisting of Maqsud Huseynli, Murad Akbarov, Saleh Mammadov and Aykhan Khasiyev, took 9th place in the team competition.
In the match for promotion to the strongest "eight", our team lost to the Ukrainian team with a score of 42:45, and in the matches for 9-16 places, they defeated the Romanian (45:42) and German (45:41) national teams.
In the individual competition of male sabre fencers, Saleh Mammadov took a place in the strongest "16". Maqsud Huseynli, Murad Akbarov and Aykhan Khasiyev passed the group stage, but stopped fighting in the playoffs.
In the individual competition of male epee fencers, our representative Vahab Fatullayev completed the group stage with 3 wins and advanced to the playoffs, but lost in the next stage.
It should be noted that Javanshir Agakishiyev judged at the sabre competitions of the championship.
