17-year-old Spanish cyclist Ivan Melendez has died as a result of injuries sustained during a race.
İdman.biz reports that this was announced by the press service of the International Cycling Union (UCI).
The athlete was involved in an accident during the second stage of the multi-day race "Vuelta Ribera del Duero" due to a mass collision. He later died from his severe injuries.
Melendez played for the Tenerife-Cabberty team.
