The World Games, to be held in Chengdu, China, will be attended by 5,000 athletes from 118 countries, including Azerbaijan.
Idman.biz reports that this statistic was announced by the Organizing Committee of the multi-forum.
The Azerbaijani team has won seven participation licenses in five different sports.
The following will represent our country in China:
Mikhail Malkin (tumbling, acrobatics),
Agasif Rahimov – Raziya Seyidli (mixed pair, acrobatics),
Murad Rafiyev – Daniyel Abbasov (men's duo, acrobatics)
Riad Safarov, Rasul Seyidli, Abdullah al-Meshaihi and Seymur Jafarov (men's group, acrobatics),
Vladimir Dolmatov – Medina Mustafayeva (mixed pair, aerobics),
Irina Zaretska (karate),
Amin Guliyev (kickboxing).
The World Games are competitions held in sports that are not included in the Olympic program. These games are also organized every four years. This time, the program includes 35 sports, some of which will be included in the program of the 2028 Olympic Games in Los Angeles. For example, it is possible to mention sports such as baseball, flag football and lacrosse.
The countries with the most licenses are the host country China, as well as the teams of France, Australia, the USA, the Czech Republic, the Netherlands, Germany and Switzerland. Each of these countries will be represented by more than 100 athletes.
It should be noted that the World Games will be held on August 7-17.
