The open Baku championship among juniors and young rowers was held jointly by the Baku City Youth and Sports Department and the Azerbaijan Canoe and Rowing Federation.
Idman.biz reports that about 100 athletes from Baku and Mingachevir participated in the competition.
According to the regulations, rowers competed in kayaks in both single and double boats, and in canoes and academic rowing in single boats over a distance of 500 meters. The winners of the open Baku championship, which was held in a tense competitive environment, were awarded with diplomas and medals.
It should be noted that one of the main goals in organizing the open Baku championship and domestic competitions of this kind is to check the level of preparation of athletes, and at the same time to involve selected rowers from among them in the youth national team.
