The defective medals of Azerbaijani athletes who won places at the Paris-2024 Summer Olympic Games will be replaced in stages.
Idman.biz reports that Murad Farzaliyev, press secretary of the Azerbaijan National Olympic Committee, told AZERTAC about this.
According to him, the process has already started: "We are in frequent contact with the French side regarding this issue. They informed us that the process has already started. First of all, the medals of French athletes will be replaced. The process will be carried out in stages. No exact date has been announced yet."
It should be noted that noticeable changes have occurred in the medals of five of our seven athletes who won prizes in Paris-2024. Except for Olympic judo champion Hidayat Heydarov (73 kg) and freestyle wrestling bronze medalist Magomedkhan Magomedov (97 kg), Olympic judo champion Zelim Kotsoiev's (100 kg) gold, taekwondoist Gashim Magomedov's (58 kg), boxer Alfonso Dominguez's (92 kg) silver, Greco-Roman wrestler Hasrat Jafarov (67 kg) and freestyle wrestler Giorgi Meshvildishvili's (125 kg) bronze medals have lost their quality.
