Athletes who will represent Azerbaijan at the European Youth Paralympic Games to be held in Istanbul, Turkey, have been determined.
The press service of the National Paralympic Committee told "Report" about this.
The Azerbaijan National Paralympic team will debut at the European Youth Paralympic Games.
Our Paralympians will be represented by 17 athletes (11 men and 6 women) in 7 of the 9 sports to be held – para-taekwondo, para-judo, para-athletics, para-swimming, para-archery, para-table tennis and boccia.
Our country will be represented in para-taekwondo in the K44 category by Sabir Zeynalov (58 kg), Aykhan Nuruyev (58 kg), Amin Aliyev (63 kg), Amin Shikhaliyev (63 kg), Imran Bagirov (70 kg), Orkhan Jafarov (80 kg) and Samaya Hasanova (47 kg), in para-judo in the J2 category by Omar Gurbanov (62 kg), Huseyn Ismayilzade (70 kg) and Elnara Nizamli (60 kg), in boccia by Fidan Safguliyeva (BC2 category) and Gunel Rzazade (BC4 category), in para-swimming by Ali Valiyev and Murad Mammadov, in para-athletics long jump by Ayshe Arabova, in para-table tennis by Laman Abdulhamidova, and in para-archery by Ismayil Allahverdiyev.
It should be noted that about 700 athletes from 33 countries will participate in the competition to be held between July 21-28. Para-athletics competitions will be held on July 23-27 at the Enka Sports Center. Competitions in all other sports will be held at the Cebeci Sports Complex.
