World Athletics Day is celebrated every year on May 7. Sport24.az reports that on this occasion, an event called "KidsRunFest" was held with the organization of World Athletics, the Ministry of Youth and Sports, the Azerbaijan Athletics Federation, the Zafar Running Club and the "Camphood" company.
More than 200 children aged 8-13 competed in the competition. In the competition held in the Seaside Boulevard area, participants tested their strength in running at various distances. Winners were determined in different age categories among girls and boys in distances of 600, 800, 1000 and 1200 meters.
It should be noted that these global events dedicated to World Children's Athletics Day every year aim to inspire children and adolescents to develop their skills and potential by using the power of athletics. The Azerbaijan Athletics Federation also stands out for participating at the highest level in Children's Athletics Day among the federations that are members of World Athletics.
