Legendary Dagestani UFC fighter Khabib Nurmagomedov explained why he didn't answer his opponent's insults before the fight against Irishman Conor McGregor.

Nurmagomedov won the title fight in the lightweight category of the UFC in 2018, defeating McGregor in the fourth round with a chokehold. Before the fight, McGregor insulted Nurmagomedov's family and religion.
"Why didn't I answer him? Because we can't talk like those people. If someone wants to treat me badly, they will tell me personally. Yes, Conor is better at swearing than me, I was watching that. But could I have sunk to his level? Could I have exchanged bad words with him? No, I couldn't. We must be above that. I thought: "Can I defeat him with bad words? No". Then I told my brothers: "I will show who I am in the cage. This is better"", - Nurmagomedov said at a meeting with fans in New Jersey (USA).
