The 42nd European Rhythmic Gymnastics Championships are being held in Varna, Bulgaria from May 27 to 31. According to Sport24.az, the newly formed Azerbaijani team in group exercises, performing today, although they failed to qualify for the final at the European Championships where they debuted in the senior category, took 11th place among 26 teams, scoring 46.650 points in the all-around.
Our team ranked 11th with 24.100 points in the 5 balls program and 15th with 22.550 points in the 3 hoops and 2 pairs of clubs program.
Based on the sum of the results in individual and group exercises in the senior age category, the Azerbaijani national team took 15th place in the team standings with 239.350 points. Individual gymnasts Fidan Gurbanli, Govhar Ibrahimova, and Kamilla Seyidzade contributed to the team score.
In the individual all-around competitions, Fidan Gurbanli scored 74.850 points and finished in 32nd place.
It should be noted that our country is represented in the competition by Azada Atakishiyeva and Nuray Muradli among juniors in the individual program, Fidan Gurbanli, Govhar Ibrahimova, Kamilla Seyidzade among seniors, as well as our group exercises team.
Among juniors, Azada Atakishiyeva was awarded 19th place with 22.450 points in the hoop program.
