"The Minifootball World Championship is another prestigious competition hosted by Azerbaijan. As you know, our country has so far hosted prestigious competitions such as the first European Games, the III Islamic Solidarity Games, the XV European Youth Summer Olympic Festival, and the 42nd World Chess Olympiad."

Idman.biz reports that Qabil Mehdiyev, head of the Public Relations Department of the Ministry of Youth and Sports, said this in his statement to AZERTAC while talking about the Minifootball World Championship held in Baku.

The Ministry representative stated that the Minifootball World Championship is also considered one of the important events: "Baku has hosted continental and world championships in various sports in different years. Each of them was organized at a high level and became proof of Azerbaijan's recognition as a sports country in the world. There is great interest in minifootball in our country. It is gratifying that Azerbaijan is recognized as the country with the strongest national team not only in Europe, but also in the world, in this sport. I believe that the mundial will further popularize and promote our minifootball. At the same time, the name of our country, which fulfills all its obligations properly, will be written in the world sports history as a state that has properly hosted another prestigious event."

Mehdiyev reminded that this year our country will also host the Formula 1 Azerbaijan Grand Prix and the III CIS Games: "The Formula 1 race held every year in our capital is also one of the most prestigious competitions that promote our country in the world. The III CIS Games, which will be held in 7 cities this year, will also go down in history as the first large-scale multi-sport competition outside the capital."

It should be noted that the Minifootball World Championship will end on June 1.
