Interview of Kakha Maysaya, head coach of the Georgian national minifootball team, to Sportal.az
- How did the Georgian national team prepare for the World Championship? Are there any aspects that concern you?
- We prepared well for the World Championship. We have a young team. Some of our players are experienced. We have a very interesting team. We are ready to compete with all opponents.
- Is it interesting, are there former players in the team who have had a professional career?
- Almost all of them are active football players. There are also those who play futsal. In addition, two players have previously played in big football.
- You have played in Azerbaijan for many years. You have returned to Baku, which is not foreign to you again...
- After Tbilisi, Baku is my second hometown. I love Baku very much and I always miss it. Because I have friends there. Even after football, my friendly relations with them continue. Returning to Baku as a head coach is interesting and exciting for me.
- What is the main goal of the Georgian national team in the tournament in Baku? Do you see the championship as realistic?
- The further we can go, the better for us. We have an ambitious and young team. In this sense, we will fight to the end with every opponent. We respect all teams. In my opinion, there is no opponent we cannot defeat.
- What do you think about the host team, the Azerbaijani national team? After becoming European champion, minifootball is developing in Azerbaijan. Were you interested in Azerbaijani minifootball?
- We all know that you have a very strong national team. We are also aware that minifootball has developed very quickly in Azerbaijan. After Georgia, I will support Azerbaijan with all my heart.
- Which team do you think is the main favorite of the championship?
- I think Azerbaijan is one of the main favorites of the World Championship. Moreover, there is also the home factor. I think all of Azerbaijan will also support Georgia. Because we are neighboring countries. In addition, there have always been high friendly relations between these two countries. I wish Azerbaijan and Georgia success.
- Georgia will compete with the Czech Republic, UAE and Argentina in Group G. How do you assess your chances of getting out of the group?
- Of course, we have a chance to get out of the group. We will do our best for this. We intend to move forward further. We are analyzing our opponents. We will see everything on the field. God willing, everything will be fine.
