"Today's victory is the result of the support provided to sports by the state."
Idman.biz reports that this was stated by the Minister of Youth and Sports, Farid Gayibov, in a statement to journalists.
The minister stated that the Minifootball World Championship held in Baku was organized at a high level: "The Minifootball World Championship was held in Azerbaijan for the first time. You know that we have had considerable success in this sport. We have been the winners of the European Championship and took fourth place in the World Championship. This time, we became champions at home with the support of the fans. Of course, there is a lot of hard work behind this. I would especially like to mention the work done by the Federation. Large-scale various competitions are held in our country. As a result of this support, sports in Azerbaijan are developing day by day and we are happy for new victories."
It should be noted that the Azerbaijani team won the world championship by defeating Hungary 4:2 in the final match held at the National Gymnastics Arena.
